Special effects makeup is the technique of creating the appearance of wounds, injuries, marks and textures which are applied directly to the skin. This type of makeup is a great way to create a story or background for a character.
When applying SFX, Makeup artists will use a range of products. Such as face paints, stage blood, liquid latex, pros-aide, scar wax which are great for creating a realistic and dramatic look.
Patch tests are usually required for this type of makeup and is done 48 hours before your appointment.
